Jerome F. Levine, M.D.
Dr. Levine graduated New York
University School of Medicine in 1976, and completed a 3-year
medical residency at NYU Medical Center- Manhattan VA Hospital.
After an additional year as Chief Medical Resident at The
Manhattan VA Hospital, he did his Fellowship in Infectious
Diseases also at The Manhattan VA Hospital. Board certified in
Internal Medicine and the sub-specialty of Infectious Diseases,
Dr. Levine has been at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC)
since 1982 as a member of the Infectious Diseases Division of the
Department of Medicine. For the last 5 years, he has been Chief of
the Division, as well as having a faculty position as Clinical
Associate Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ-NJMS. Dr. Levine has been
actively involved in the training program for both the medical
residents, as Associate Program Director, and Program Director of
the Infectious Diseases Fellowship at HUMC and now as associate
Program Director for the ID Fellowship at the integrated
UMDNJ-NJMS program. He has been actively involved in research as
the Principle Investigator for numerous clinical trials of new
anti-microbial agents for the last 18 years.
Honored as one of the “Top Docs”
in New York Magazine in Infectious Diseases for both 1999 and
2000, as well as New Jersey Magazine, Dr. Levine maintains a very
active clinical practice at HUMC. He has special interest in
HIV/AIDS patients, nosocomial infections and Hepatitis C
infections. He is currently Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical
Staff of HUMC and a member of the Medical Board of the hospital.
Also, he serves on the Board of Health in his home town.
