Steven J. Sperber, M.D.
Dr. Sperber graduated New York
University School of Medicine in 1982 and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Health Sciences Center of
the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985. Upon completion
of a 3-year fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of
Virginia, Dr. Sperber joined the faculty of the University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School in New Brunswick where he was involved in teaching,
research and the clinical practice of infectious diseases. Since
his arrival at Hackensack University Medical Center in 1992, he
has had a growing clinical practice in infectious diseases and has
continued to actively participate in many research studies. A
member of the faculty at UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School as a
Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Dr. Sperber remains
involved in the education of medical students, residents and
fellows.
A Fellow in the American College of
Physicians, Dr. Sperber is board certified in internal medicine
and infectious diseases and maintains a practice limited to adult infectious
diseases. He continues to have special interests in viral infections-
their treatment and prevention- especially respiratory viral
diseases such as the common cold and influenza. He has authored
numerous papers and has presented his research at national
meetings.
